Our Mission

The mission of Compassionate friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age. We offer friendship, understanding and hope.

Parents, grand parents and siblings (age 12 and above) are welcome. There is no religious affiliation. Compassionate friends is a self-help group. All the leaders are bereaved parents. We are a non-profit, non-denominational support group. No one is required to talk at a meeting. We understand how difficult it is to talk when our grief is fresh. If you child died a few weeks ago, or a few years ago, you are welcome.

The Boise Chapter serves people in Ada County, the valley and surrounding areas. We have people who come from as far as Sun Valley. Anyone from the surrounding areas, or visiting our area, is welcome to attend.

We need not walk alone. We are the compassionate friends.

Memory Table: On the month of your child’s birth, or your child’s death, feel free to bring some photos, or other items of your child’s to place on the table and share (something they made, a piece of clothing, something involving their hobbies, etc)
